The California State Bar has submitted its Justification for a Licensing Fee Increase to the Chief Justice of California and to the Assembly and Senate Judiciary Committees. The report outlines the State Bar’s justification for a 2025 fee increase. The report also discusses options for structuring the fee and contains recommendations for shifting to a tiered system based on different practice sectors.
The State Bar proposes that the Legislature authorize an automatic annual CPI adjustment to the licensing fee.
