Prior to the Warriors vs. the Phoenix Suns game on March 30, the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) members were treated to a panel discussion with the Legal Team from the Golden State Warriors. Led by BASF Board member David Kelly, his team includes Chauntell Bobo, Assistant General Counsel, Nikhil Gupta, Associate General Counsel, Zade Shakir, Associate General Counsel and Lisa Meyer, Associate General Counsel. They each discussed their path to the Warriors as well as shared advice for other attorneys.
Bobo shared what she found to be the most helpful. “Be the point guard of your own career. None knows what you want but you. Find opportunities that meet your interests.”
Meyer talked about being open to taking the chances you find along the way, like she did when she worked for a boxing organization. “Be open, you don’t know what every sport offers and there are so many options. With fringe sports opportunities, you’ll get to learn everything.”
Thank you to Kelly and his team for taking the time to talk about their experiences.
The School-to-College (STC) program of BASF's Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) also brought students from The Academy - San Francisco @ McAteer to an exclusive tour of the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors, as well as tickets to see the team play their final game. The students were also treated with floor tickets to watch their favorite team practice up close during the pregame shoot around.
Students from the School to College program watched the GSW players up close.
