The Bar Association of San Francisco is excited to welcome its 2015 Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section Chair, Gregg Ficks.
Gregg is a partner at Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass, where he leads the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. He has a nationwide bankruptcy and restructuring practice specializing in representing landlords, lenders, real estate developers, hotels, and various other secured and unsecured creditors, with a focus on litigation for hotels/hotel management companies, landlord-tenant litigation, and other various debtor-creditor litigation.
Having served as its deputy chair for 2014,Gregg is no stranger to the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section, and expects to seamlessly continue the agenda he helped set forth for 2014 with outgoing chair Reno Fernandez. This agenda included:
- sponsoring monthly educational luncheon programs related to bankruptcy, creditor/debtor rights, and finance
- presenting an annual program on recent developments in bankruptcy
- providing a forum for bankruptcy attorneys to participate in reviewing and commenting on proposed programs affecting the bankruptcy courts
Gregg was pleased with the direction he helped to take the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section in 2014, and is looking forward to the opportunity to helm this important section in 2015, during which he expects to see the membership grow and the educational opportunities multiply. Among his personal challenges for his upcoming term is managing this growth and ensuring the continuing comprehensive education of attorneys in the fast-moving and dynamic world of finance and bankruptcy.
Please join us in welcoming Gregg Ficks as BASF’s Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section Chair for 2015!
