BASF Leader Circle Firm O’Melveny & Myers continued its longstanding tradition of awarding college scholarships and mentoring to students at San Francisco’s Balboa High School.
Since 2006, O’Melveny’s San Francisco office has selected three high-achieving 10th grade students from Balboa High each year; one O’Melveny Scholar and two finalists. The firm’s pledge to the students is that if they stay in school, graduate, and go to college, the O’Melveny Scholar will receive $20,000 and the finalists will each receive $1,000 to help pay for school-related expenses. Congratulations to 2015 O’Melveny Scholar Seuiolotoi “Seu” Ufau, and finalists Omar Estanislao and Wendy Zhou.
The firm’s San Francisco scholarship program enjoys a 100% success rate; to date, every Balboa student selected to receive an O’Melveny scholarship has graduated from high school and gone on to attend college. O’Melveny Scholars have attended universities such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, and San Francisco State.
