The Bar Association of San Francisco’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
Recently renamed to reflect its expansion into Marin County, there is no better time to become a member of the long running, award winning SF-Marin Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS).
SF-Marin LRIS membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. Whether you are submitting an application to join this innovative program for the first time or are a renewing member, now is the time to submit your Attorney Agreement and area of law Panel Applications. Basic membership in the service is only $200. BASF members pay just $125.
Amy Anderson, SF-Marin LRIS Business Panel member since 2013, shared her thoughts on the value of continued participation, “A consistent source of customers/clients, word-of-mouth advertising, and quality lead generation are important to the growth and sustainability of any small business, and it is in these ways that my business benefits from my relationship with LRIS. One aspect I enjoy most about running a small practice is the ability to have more educated and personable relationships with clients, associates, and even opposing parties and their counsel, so I greatly appreciate the care the LRIS puts into matching me with clients whose needs I am best suited to service.”
Membership is beneficial to solo and small firm practitioners as well as to associates in large firms. Referrals span the legal spectrum with initial case screening handled by a team of professional, multi-lingual legal interviewers. The service maintains an active and visible presence in the community through radio, transit, and online marketing, as well as partnerships with the business community, district supervisors, and government and social service organizations.
One mission of the SF-Marin LRIS is to provide the community with legal assistance that is representative of the population. Maintaining panels with attorneys from diverse backgrounds, with multiple language capabilities helps to fulfill this mission.
Currently SF-Marin LRIS seeks diverse attorneys to represent minors in the Dependency Representation Program and in delinquency court. Attorneys who handle tenant eviction are also needed. Any attorney who speaks or offers Spanish is also a plus to our panel. If you meet the criteria for participation on one or both of these panels we hope you will consider applying today. SF-Marin LRIS serves as a vital resource to the families, individuals, and businesses within the wonderfully diverse San Francisco Bay Area and anticipates doing so for another 70 years.
