San Francisco’s legal community gathered on July 18 to honor Judge Curtis E. A. Karnow, San Francisco Superior Court, at the 35th annual Barristers Judges Reception. It was a record turn out, drawing more than 400 members of the legal community, including 40 state and federal judges and their clerks.
At the event, Judge Karnow received the Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco Tara L. Riedley Barristers Choice Award. The award recognizes Judge Karnow’s commitment to the mission of the Barristers Club. Presented by Barristers Board President-Elect Kelly Matayoshi, Farella Braun + Martel, the award honored Judge Karnow for being especially supportive of the Barristers “practical tips” initiative. That initiative helps newer lawyers gain more practical experience, especially in the courtroom.
The event was chaired by Cristina Piechocki, Pandora, along with a committee of 15 members of the Barristers Club from Bay Area firms and law schools.
