On November 4, the BASF Appellate Section is hosting an all-day, in-person CLE event, presenting panels including 12 of Justices of the First District Court of Appeal, and our special lunch guest California Supreme Court Justice Carol Corrigan. The Justices and other panelists will be speaking on the post-pandemic state of the courts, advice for handling criminal appeals, appellate ethics and civility, statutory interpretation and legislative history, and the use of civil writs. Lunch will feature a conversation between Justice Simons and Justice Corrigan, and we will end the program with a roundtable discussion with the newest Justices on the First District, followed by a wine and cheese reception.
This was always the section’s most popular program before the pandemic, and we are very excited to be able to return to it. The program offers 6 hours of CLE credit, lunch, and the wine and cheese reception, for $200 for non BASF-members, $150 for BASF members, and $100 for Appellate Section members as well as government attorneys, nonprofit attorneys, and attorneys working with the First District Appellate Project. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from and meet with the Justices! We hope to see you there.
