Additions to Venable’s Intellectual Property Division
On March 10th, Venable announced that Jeannine Yoo Sano and Eric Krause joined their Intellectual Property team in San Francisco. Sano holds over 30 years of experience with patent and trade secret trials and appeals in technology fields. Nationally recognized, her successes have been praised by IAM Patent 1000, Managing IP, The Recorder, and other notable publications. Similarly, Krause specializes in patent and trade secret cases involving technologies like semiconductor fabrication, IoT, and others, using his background as an electrical and computer engineer. In the firm’s announcement, Justin Pierce, co-chair of Venable’s IP Division shared, “Their exceptional expertise and commitment to protecting technology interests will further strengthen our ability to serve clients in an increasingly complex IP landscape.”

Crowell & Moring Attorneys Honored with Legal Writing Award
The Bar Association of San Francisco would like to acknowledge, Crowell & Moring’s partner Joanna Rosen Forster, counsel Jacob Canter, and associate Matt Menezes for being honored with Law360‘s Distinguished Legal Writing Award by the Burton Awards for their article, “The State Law Landscape After Justice’s Social Media Ruling,” which analyzes Supreme Court ruling and its impact on social media companies. The award will be presented at a gala at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., on May 19th.
Brausa Receives Jan Sherwood Advocate of the Year Award
Adam R. Brausa, trial lawyer, partner at Morrison & Foerster, and chair of BASF’s Litigation Section, has been honored with the Jan Sherwood Advocate of the Year Award by Advokids, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children in the foster care system. Last year, Adam led a team in a SF Family Court case that successfully recognized a maternal aunt as the de facto parent of two foster children, allowing them to remain in her care and prevent further trauma. Great work, Adam!
