The Bar Association of San Francisco and the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank celebrated a record-breaking annual Food From the Bar Campaign at an awards ceremony at One Market Restaurant on July 21. Food from the Bar is the legal community’s annual fundraising drive to benefit the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks.
The campaign included 65 participating organizations in San Francisco and Marin County raising more than $694,500; collecting 6,245 pounds of food; and contributing 821 volunteer shifts at the food bank.
Money donated, food collected and volunteer time help distribute millions of pounds of food to more than 450 pantries and agencies serving hungry people throughout San Francisco and Marin.
Campaign highlights include:
- The “Top Fundraising” honor went to, for the seventh year in a row, the Fremont Group, who has raised more money than any other fundraising drive in San Francisco Food Bank history, with an amazing $127,766 raised!
- Bechtel was recognized as the “Top Foodraiser” bringing in 697 pounds of food
- The Top Volunteer award went to Gap Legal, for mobilizing 100 volunteer shifts
- The “Per Capita Grand Prize” went to Munger, Tolles & Olson for raising the most money per person
