Three BASF Members Honored by Diversity Council
Past BASF President Joan Haratani, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, former BASF Board Member Cloey Hewlett, Nossaman, and California Minority Counsel Program Executive Director Marci Rubin were all honored by the California Diversity Council in April. Haratani was honored with a Multicultural Leadership Award. Hewlett and Rubin were recognized as Most Powerful and Influential Women.
Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California Honors Cloey Hewlett
Cloey Hewlett, Nossaman, was also honored by the Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California at an award reception in late April in Los Angeles. Hewlett was honored as a founding member and the organization’s first president.

Kamala Harris Included on the 2013 Time Most Influential List
California Attorney General Kamala Harris was recently named to Time magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
BASF Member Appointed to Official Delegation
Dean Fealk, a partner at DLA Piper, has been selected by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to join an official delegation to the People’s Republic of China to meet with Chinese government and business leaders to highlight bi-lateral trade and investment opportunities between the two regions. The delegation includes the governor and 75 business, economic development, investment and policy leaders from throughout California.
Past President Appointed to Chair American College of Trial Lawyers Committee
BASF Past President Nanci Clarence, Clarence Dyer & Cohen, was recently appointed to a two-year term as chair of the Federal Criminal Practice Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Michael Kelly Elected to Inner Circle of Advocates
Michael Kelly, Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger, was recently elected to the Inner Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only group of the best plaintiff lawyers in the United States.
