With tax season approaching, JDC’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) recently provided a series of three taxpayer workshops for homeowners and gig-economy workers. The series partnered JDC with the San Francisco Public Library, the Homeownership SF coalition, San Francisco’s Office of the Assessor-Recorder Carmen Chu, and the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD).
LITC Supervising Attorney Amy Spivey presented at two workshops at the Main Branch of the San Francisco Public Library to help local homeowners and gig-economy workers prepare tax returns and identify their eligibility for expenses and deductions. Amy also presented at a similar workshop at the San Francisco LGBT Center for owners of below-market rate units and recipients of a City Downpayment Assistance Loan Program; the workshop was presented in partnership with Homeownership SF, a coalition of housing counseling agencies.
JDC thanks the MOHCD, the Office of the Assessor-Recorder, and the SF LGBT Center for helping to facilitate these successful and informative workshops.
