San Francisco Mayor Mark E. Farrell has nominated Avantika Shastri, Justice & Diversity Center Senior Supervising Attorney and Legal Director of the SF Immigrant Legal Defense Collaborative, as Woman Making History. Shastri will be recognized at the Annual Women’s History Month reception to be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
March is nationally recognized as Women’s History Month and annually the Mayor, members of the Board of Supervisors and the District Attorney recognize women in our community who are courageous leaders improving the quality of life for San Franciscans. The theme for the 2018 Women’s History Month celebration is “Nevertheless She Persisted: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination.”
Mayor Farrell will recognize Shastri and her achievements at the reception hosted by the Friends of the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women. The reception will be held at 5:00 PM, in the Mayor’s Conference Room, City Hall, Room 201.
