Help Low-Income Taxpayers Reach Fair Resolutions with the IRS and Tax Court
JDC helps low-income people with federal tax controversies before the IRS and U.S. Tax Court. Our clients rely on tax professionals’ pro bono services to access justice and fair outcomes. Their disputes include audits involving unreported income and tax credits, innocent spouse claims, IRS appeals, U.S. Tax Court litigation, collection alternatives, and more.
JDC provides support for volunteers throughout the process.
Our Supervising Attorney thoroughly screens clients and cases, collects initial documents, identifies the issues, and ensures a matter is appropriate for a volunteer to handle. We have malpractice insurance which covers all volunteers, and we provide training and ongoing support.
