Katie Danielson[/captionJDC’s Katie Danielson recently was announced as the recipient of the 2016 James Brosnahan Fellowship.]

Danielson, the Senior Supervising Attorney at the Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP), is the third recipient since the fellowship was established in 2012 to provide an annual stipend to recipients.

Joseph Cotchett, Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, made a generous gift to create the fellowship and the JDC board passed a resolution instituting the fellowship.

At Cotchett’s request, the fellowship is named after Past BASF President James Brosnahan, Morrison & Foerster, to recognize his extraordinary service to the bench and bar, and his lifelong commitment to justice for disadvantaged and historically underrepresented people.

Danielson has worked at HAP for nearly 15 years. In addition to participating in overall management of the HAP office, she oversees all of the SSI advocacy work at HAP, and represents tenants in eviction cases.

Danielson also supervises the Summer Associates in Public Service Program; teaches at Golden Gate Law School’s Honors Lawyering Program, through which her students represent HAP clients; shares supervisory responsibilities for JDC’s free walk-in Legal Advice and Referral Clinic; and helps out at JDC’s Housing Negotiation Project.

Danielson is the epitome of an employee who is always willing to go above and beyond – for her clients, her students, her co-workers and the organization.
