Registration is open for the Justice & Diversity Center’s (JDC) Homeless Advocacy Project’s (HAP) Summer Associates in Public Service Program. The program enables firms to provide crucial legal services to low-income and homeless San Francisco residents, while summer associates learn both practical skills and the value of pro bono work.
The program begins with an all-day training for summer associates, given by HAP. Then with ongoing support, and under their firm’s supervision, summer associates interview clients, identify issues, draft and respond to discovery, negotiate, draft legal briefs and memoranda, and possibly attend civil and/or administrative hearings. The initial training program is June 4 in San Francisco.
