Janet Frankel Appointed to Marin County Superior Court
BASF member Janet Frankel was recently appointed to the Marin County Superior Court bench. Frankel is a past Chair of BASF’s Family Law Section and a certified family law specialist. She has been appointed to preside over the cases filed by the Department of Child Support Services involving the setting of child and family support orders, collection of arrearages and other issues related to family support. The appointment was effective November 1, 2020.
Brian Ferrall Appointed to San Francisco County Superior Court
BASF member Brian L. Ferrall has been appointed to serve as a judge in the San Francisco County Superior Court. Ferrall has been a partner at BASF Leaders Circle firm Keker, Van Nest & Peters since 1999 and was an associate there from 1995 to 1999. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Charlene Kiesselbach.
Amee A. Mikacich Elected Treasurer of American Board of Trial Advocates, San Francisco Chapter
BASF member Amee A. Mikacich, Hinshaw & Culbertson, has been elected treasurer of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mikacich previously served as Chapter secretary, and takes office in December 2020.
Aviva Gilbert Honored With WWCDA Catherine M. O’Neil Mentoring Award
BASF member Aviva Gilbert, Farella Braun + Martel, received the Women’s White Collar Defense Association’s (WWCDA) Catherine M. O’Neil Mentoring Award, recognizing champions in white collar defense practice. The award will be presented on December 1 at the WWCDA 2020 Virtual Awards Gala.
