Do you believe that everyone deserves legal representation when faced with being evicted? Do you believe that all students deserve the opportunity to succeed in school?
Please make a gift to the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) and partner with us to meet these needs in our community.
Donations to JDC’s Campaign to Give Back provide life-changing services to people in need. Here are just a few examples of the critical work JDC does with the support of donors like you:
- A young family is grateful they were not evicted from their apartment because they were represented by a JDC volunteer attorney.
- A senior is thankful for being able to secure affordable health care with assistance from JDC’s Medical-Legal Clinic, gaining back his mobility and allowing him to volunteer again at his local senior center.
- An eighteen-year-old high school student is excited about the prospect of graduating in the spring, and even more excited to find out which colleges she applied to have accepted her. All of this was made possible through JDC’s School-To-College program and its volunteer mentors.
According to Chris Kearney, JDC Board President “The breadth of JDC’s pro bono legal services is truly remarkable, including eviction defense and other cases involving basic human needs that are at the center of San Francisco’s Right to Civil Counsel movement. These pro bono services—combined with groundbreaking educational programs that foster diversity in the legal profession—put JDC at the forefront of access to justice issues.”
The Justice & Diversity Center’s Campaign to Give Back seeks to raise $280,000 from individual donors by the end of the year—and we’ve raised about half that amount as of November 1. Funds from the campaign support all of JDC’s legal services programs, the School-To-College program and the Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarships. Please make a gift today.
