Alice Shikina of Shikina Mediation and Arbitration is a certified mediator with a unique background. She has over 20 years of theatre experience, which she brings to her mediation practice. She is a practiced improviser and an excellent people reader.
She has mediated hundreds of hours of landlord/tenant cases, as well as family/au pair cases. She is a good listener, compassionate and a true neutral. She believes that most situations can be resolved and she uses her creative, out-of-box thinking style to help parties come up with solutions that work with everyone. Shikina has coached mediators in training through UC Berkeley extension.
Sanford Kingsley, Mediation Offices of Sanford Kingsley, has over 35 years of litigation and mediation experience. Before becoming a full time mediator, Kingsley was a litigator for 33 years, including as a partner in Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal (now Dentons) and LeBoeuf, Lamb Greene & McRae, two prominent national law firms. Kingsley handled a wide variety of complex civil matters in trial and appellate courts. Now as a mediator and a neutral, Kingsley has presided over 100 mediations and settlement conferences.
His mediation practice includes Class Actions, Commercial Litigation, Insurance (including coverage and bad faith), Real Estate, Employment Disputes, ERISA, Personal Injury, Legal and Medical Malpractice.
He serves as a Settlement Judge Pro Tem in several Bay Area counties. He is also a Resolution Advocate in the Northern District Bankruptcy Court and a member of the Voluntary Dispute Resolution Program in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
