BASF and JDC Executive Director Yolanda Jackson was recently honored by the Bay Area Urban Debate League (BAUDL) with its Great Debater Award.
The award was presented to Jackson at BAUDL’s 7th Annual Awards Gala, where she also served as the keynote speaker. Jackson was recognized for her work with under-served communities. In her keynote, she urged the audience to overcome their unconscious racial bias and make connections with young people of color to give them insider networks that are critical for their future success.
BAUDL is an urban debate league program that serves diverse, low-income schools. It was established in 2008 and BASF member Darin Snyder of O’Melveny & Myers serves as BAUDL’s Board Chair.
