California Women Lawyers Board Announced
BASF members Amee Mikacich, Sedgwick, and Nicole Sugnet, Supreme Court of California, were both recently installed as District Governors by the California Women Lawyers (CWL) Board.
CWL promotes the advancement of women in the legal profession and is an active advocate for the concerns of women in society.
NeighborWorks America Honors Corinne Quigley
Morrison & Foerster’s Corinne Quigley was recently honored by NeighborWorks America for her work on behalf of the organization in Colusa County. She was recognized for securing a big win for NeighborWorks that allowed the organization to move forward with plans to build affordable housing for low-income families and farm workers.
Asian Pacific American Bar Names “Best Lawyers Under 40”
The following BASF members were named to the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association “Best Lawyers Under 40” (BU40) list: David Mesa, Sedgwick; Suhi Koizumi, Minami Tamaki and Rita Lin, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of California.
The BU40 Award recognizes talented individuals in the Asian Pacific American legal community who are under the age of 40 and have achieved prominence and distinction in their respective fields — be it the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics — and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian Pacific American civic or community affairs.
Swords to Plowshares Honors Seth Neulight
Seth Neulight, a partner in the San Francisco Office of Nixon Peabody LLP, will receive the Bill Brockett Pro Bono Award from Swords to Plowshares on September 14, 2017, for his outstanding work with veterans.
Swords to Plowshares, a San Francisco-based veteran service organization, will present the award at a legal reception held at the law firm of Keker, Van Nest & Peters.
The annual award is given to a volunteer attorney for their outstanding service to veterans and dedication to Swords to Plowshares’ Veterans Pro Bono Program. The award is named in memory of William “Bill” Brockett Jr. who co-founded Keker, Van Nest & Peters along with John Keker.
Lawyers Club of San Francisco Inn of Court Names President
Mary Catherine Wiederhold, The Law Offices of Mary Catherine Wiederhold, was selected to be President of The Lawyers’ Club of San Francisco Inn of Court for 2017-2018. She represents residential tenants and concentrates on real estate litigation.
Berkeley Commission on Labor Adds Attorney
Kyle Schriner was appointed to the Commission on Labor in Berkeley on August 28.
The Recorder Announces Litigation Department of the Year

State Bar Family Law Section Executive Committee Announced
Kelly J. Robbins of Robbins Family Law, is pleased and honored to be elected a member of the Family Law Section Executive Committee of the State Bar (FLEXCOM). FLEXCOM furthers the knowledge of section members in all areas of family law, and assists the State Bar by working with the legislature to develop family law legislation.
