Ray Marshall Named Board President of ABA Program
Past BASF President Ray Marshall, Sheppard Mullin Richter Hampton, was recently named President of the Board of Directors of the American Bar Association Retirement Funds Program (ABA RF).
Marshall has served on the Board of Directors since 2011, and has acted as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President of the ABA RF. His term as President commenced on August 14, 2017, and lasts for one year.

Chuck Geerhart Becomes Member of Trial Advocates Group
Chuck Geerhart has been selected for membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA’s primary purpose is the preservation of the civil jury trial, “Justice by the People.” Geerhart is a partner in the plaintiff-side trial firm Paoli & Geerhart, formed in 1998 in San Francisco.
Russ Roeca Named Member at Large to Bench Bar Coalition
2009 President Russ Roeca of Roeca Haas Montes de Oca was recently named an At-Large Member of the statewide Bench Bar Coalition (BBC). The coalition was formed in 1993 to enhance communication and coordinate activities with the state, local, and specialty bar associations on issues of common interest to the judicial branch—particularly in the legislative arena. Securing adequate, dependable, and stable funding for the trial courts has been a primary focus for the BBC.
James Brosnahan Named to the 2017 Irish Legal 100
1977 BASF President James Brosnahan of Morrison & Foerster was recently named to the Irish Legal Times 100, founded in 2008 by the Irish Voice newspaper in New York. The Irish Legal Times 100 is a compilation of the most distinguished legal professionals in the United States “who share one common bond: pride in their Irish roots.”
Public Contract Law Section Chair
At the American Bar Association’s Annual Meeting in August, Aaron Silberman of Rogers Joseph O’Donnell was elevated to Chair of the ABA’s Public Contract Law Section. He has served as an Officer since 2014.
