Joseph M. Alioto Jr. Appointed to California State Coastal Conservancy
BASF member Joseph M. Alioto Jr. has been appointed by Governor Newsom to the Governing Board of the California State Coastal Conservancy. The Coastal Conservancy is a state agency, established in 1976, to protect and improve natural lands and waterways, to help people get to and enjoy the outdoors, and to sustain local economies along California’s coast.

Kevin Frazier Receives Honorable Mention in Marshall M. Schulman Writing Contest
BASF member Kevin Frazier, a rising 2L at Berkeley Law, received honorable mention in the 2020 Marshall M. Schulman Writing Contest, hosted by the Criminal Law Section of the California Lawyers Association. Frazier’s paper on ‘The Case for a Duty to Report: A Utilitarian and Retributivist Analysis’ will be published in Criminal Law Journal.
