Cristina Rubke Places First in Sailing Competition
Cristina Rubke, Shartsis Friese, recently won first place in the Liberty Servo Fleet at the 2013 Access Class European Championships and SKUD 18 Europeans in late May. The race was held in Arbon on the waters of Lake Constance in Switzerland.
Morrison & Foerster Attorneys Named Dealmakers of the Week
In June, BASF member Rob Townsend, Morrison & Foerster, along with Ken Siegel a partner in the Tokyo office of Morrison & Foerster, were named Am Law’s Dealmakers of Week for their role in representing Tokyo-based Internet and telecommunications company SoftBank in its $21.6 billion acquisition of a 78 percent stake in Sprint Nextel.
ABA Appoints BASF Member to Task Force
Golden Gate University School of Law Dean Rachel Van Cleave was recently appointed a member of the ABA’s Legal Access Job Corps Task Force.
The Task Force will focus on efforts to match unemployed or underemployed lawyers with significant unmet legal needs around the U.S.
Public Justice Honors BASF Member
Public Justice held its 31st Annual Gala & Awards Dinner in late July . They presented the Champion of Justice Award to Past President and Executive Committee Member Al Brayton of Brayton Purcell.
