All of us at the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) would like to thank AT&T Services, Inc. for their continued support of JDC by funding our Legal Services Fellowship this summer.
Caroline Shen, a rising 2L at UC Hastings, was selected as this year’s AT&T Fellow and provided invaluable support to JDC, including for our Eviction Defense Project. Caroline’s goal for her fellowship was to work more closely with low-income clients, who need the most help but who are largely ignored by the rest of society. Coming in, Caroline did not have much experience in landlord-tenant law but after working with JDC this summer, she says she recognized how important this issue is for San Francisco and wants to continue helping the ever-worsening problem of homelessness. With AT&T’s support, Caroline was able to experience public interest law firsthand and is committed to putting significant time into pro bono work throughout her legal career!
