In July, BASF Leaders Circle firm Alston & Bird hosted the Bar Association of San Francisco’s (BASF) In-House Counsel Section for a fun and entertaining night of virtual trivia. In-House Counsel Section Chair Karen Scarr and BASF President and Alston & Bird partner Stuart Plunkett welcomed the attendees as the trivia teams were randomly assigned and then quizzed on a range of themed topics including:
- Unicorns: A mix of facts from California’s tech successes and fairy-tale lore
- Oh Say Can You See: Facts about the National Parks, monuments, and landmarks
- The Golden State: General trivia pertaining to California
- Law & Order: General trivia pertaining to law as well as legal pop-culture
The winning team included In-House Counsel Section members Hanifa Baporia and Arlette Noujaim Najjar and Alston & Bird partners Valarie Williams and Bo Phillips. Karen Scarr was named the individual winner by answering the most questions correctly in the least amount of time.
In addition to their well-deserved bragging rights, Alston & Bird made a $500 contribution to the Justice & Diversity Center on behalf of the winners. The virtual trivia event was Alston & Bird’s second social event of the year with the In-House Counsel Section.
