September 20, 2018 — San Francisco — The Bar Association of San Francisco’s (BASF) Nominating Committee has nominated six directors to serve on its Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee, chaired by immediate past president Merri A. Baldwin, also recommended a candidate for the office of secretary. President-Elect Doris Cheng, Walkup Melodia Kelly & Schoenberger, will succeed to the office of the president in 2019; Stuart C. Plunkett, Baker Botts, will serve as president-elect; Marvin Anderson, AT&T Services, Inc. Legal Department, will serve as treasurer. The nominee for secretary is Mary McNamara, Swanson & McNamara.
Nominated to serve as directors are Jamie Dupree, Futterman Dupree Dodd Croley Maier; Steven A. Hirsch, Keker, Van Nest & Peters; Erick C. Howard, Shartsis Friese; Peggy Otum, Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer; Ragesh Tangri, Durie Tangri; and Erica Villanueva, Farella Braun + Martel.
The new board members will be joining the following continuing board members: Alexis A. Amezcua, Morrison & Foerster; Terrance J. Evans, Duane Morris; Charles H. Jung, Nassiri & Jung; Sebastian Kaplan, Gerard Fox Law; Colin T. Kemp, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman; Miriam Kim, Munger Tolles & Olson; Carolyn M. Lee, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius; Lisa P. Mak, Minami Tamaki; David Otsuka, Wells Fargo Law Department; David J. Tsai, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman; and Sharon L. Woo, San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
Members of the association may petition to run for a seat on the board or for the offices of president-elect, treasurer or secretary. The petition, which must be signed by one percent (75) active members of the association, must be received in the BASF offices no later than noon, October 15, 2018. If there is more than one nominee for any office, or more than six nominees for director, an election of BASF members will be held.
Outgoing members include 2018 President Malcolm A. Heinicke, Munger, Tolles & Olson; David A. Carrillo, UC Berkeley; Sigrid Irias, Irias Law; Karen Kimmey, Farella Braun + Martel; Peter C. Meier, Paul Hastings; Vidhya Prabhakaran, Davis Wright Tremaine; and Jennifer Redmond, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton.
The 2019 officers and board members will be installed at the BASF Annual Membership Luncheon on December 18, 2018.
