For years, the BASF Labor and Employment Section has held its annual conference in Yosemite, assembling many of the top labor and employment practitioners in the Bay Area (in fact, the country) for a weekend that combines expert CLE presentations, lively discussion, and relaxation in one of the most scenic settings on Earth. That tradition will continue this year at the annual conference in Yosemite Valley on January 30 to 31, 2015.
Check out the top five reasons why newer attorneys should attend the Conference:
1. Networking
The opportunity to meet, and get to know, leading practitioners in our field, from the plaintiffs’ bar, defense bar, in-house legal departments, and government. New Barristers attendees will have the opportunity to be paired with networking mentors, with the goal of making the conference and receptions a uniquely beneficial experience for up-and-coming lawyers.
2. Cutting-Edge CLE
Advanced CLE presentations on cutting-edge, topical issues that affect our practice, including a round-up of new state and federal decisions, an update by the Chair of the Fair Employment and Housing Council, a look at unique San Francisco regulations that may signal changes coming across the state, and a primer on new and innovative organizing tools used by unions.
3. Special Seminar
A special session will be held offering insights from both sides of the bar about the evolution of labor and employment law and its current trajectory.
4. Learn and Play
A unique chance to combine a weekend of CLE (6.5 hours), amazing networking opportunities, and day-hikes in a national park.
5. Yosemite at a Discount
Special BASF discounts on lodging at both the affordable Yosemite Lodge (where the CLE programs will take place) and the Grand Ahwanhnee Lodge (where receptions will be held).
Reserve your spot by registering online at www.sfbar.org/yosemite.
The hotel reservation deadline is December 15, 2014.
