BASF’s 2011 Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarship recipient Antonio Ingram graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law this past May.
Over the last three years, Ingram has shown why he was so deserving of the scholarship and why it was such a great investment by donors to the scholarship program.
During law school Ingram participated in the International Human Rights Clinic, where he traveled to Vancouver, Canada to advocate for First Nations indigenous rights. He also traveled to San Salvador, El Salvador to advocate for LGBT rights.
Ingram served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Berkeley Law Journal of African American Law and Policy. He also interned at the Israel Law Center and spent six weeks in Tel-Aviv, Israel working with victims of terror as they sought civil compensation.
Through Berkeley Law’s UCDC program, a full-semester externship program in Washington, DC, Ingram interned at the DC Public Defenders Office for a semester in their felony trial division.
Ingram will join the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster in its litigation department. He is interested in litigation broadly and will likely focus in on financial services litigation or securities and white collar criminal defense.
He had this to say about the scholarship and BASF in general, “BASF has been so much more than
a provider of a scholarship. BASF has afforded me with a network of professionals and mentors in the Bay
Area that has already started providing me with a strong foundation for a legal career in San Francisco.”
