More than fifty employers interviewed over 300 law students from across the nation at the 11th Annual Bay Area Diversity Career Fair in July, sponsored by BASF and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. The night before the interviews, participating students and employers attended a welcome reception, which took place at Orrick’s office.
A breakfast panel, held before the interviews took place, featured Kevin Fong, partner, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman; Paul Henderson, deputy chief of staff and director of public safety, Office of San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee, and on-air legal analyst for MSNBC; Morvarid Metanat, career fair alumna and corporate counsel and director of business affairs, Pandora Media, Inc.; Robert Uriarte, managing associate, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe; and moderator Megan Lawson, career fair alumna and associate, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. One of the most important aspects of the panel was the candid conversation and advice the panelists imparted to the students as they embarked upon their day of interviews.
Thanks to Morrison & Foerster for hosting the student lunch.
