The Barristers Club
The Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) is a community of attorneys in their first ten years of practice. Barristers develop the skills they need for a successful career. All BASF members in their first ten years, including law students, are part of the Barristers Club.
Join the Board
Applications for the 2025 Board of Directors are now open. The Barristers Club is governed by a Board of Directors elected for three-year terms. In August of each year, the Barristers Club accepts applications to serve on the board. A Nominating Committee selects new board members after careful review and vetting. The deadline to apply is October 1.
Joining a Barristers section or committee is the best way to get involved. As an active member, you will expand your professional network and learn new skills to make you a more successful attorney.
Barristers committees focus on community service and professional growth. Committees are free to join. As a member, you will have opportunities to gain leadership experience, help plan events, or take part in service projects.
Sections are organized around practice areas, such as litigation and family law. Each section serves as a community for new attorneys to share information, network and advance skills. Members enjoy reduced prices for section programs and events.
Help school children learn about our legal system as a Day in Court Tour Guide! These tours provide an opportunity for students in grades five through eight to visit the civil courthouse, observe hearings and jury trials, and interact with court staff and judges.
