Gary Sanders
Mediator / Arbitrator
Before entering the mediation field, Gary Sanders worked for 30 years in the commercial sector negotiating agreements for corporations across the US in the technology, drug and service industries. As a full-time mediator for 6 years, he is active in the ADR programs supporting the Superior Courts in several Northern California counties and the Real Estate industry. This includes his volunteer work as a mediator, recognized as a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association's 'Pro Bono Honor Roll' from 2020 to 2023.
He draws on his experiences as a mediator and corporate negotiator to unravel complicated scenarios, gain consensus and settle disputes (especially high-octane personal ones). To generate results, he demonstrates intense listening, constant curiosity, attention to detail, thorough preparation, tenacity, awareness of cultural differences and creativity. He has negotiated settlements in 150+ Restraining Order disputes.

Mediator - Alameda County Superior Court’s 'Day of Court' Settlement program.
Member - ADR Committee of Litigation Section of the California Lawyers Association, Executive Committee of the ADR Section of the Alameda County Bar Association and Alameda County Court Judicial ADR Committee. Member of San Francisco Bar Assn., Alameda County Bar Assn., Contra Costa County Bar Assn., and The Mediation Society. Member of the Board of Directors of Contra Costa County Bar Association’s non-profit fund-raising 501c3: Contra Costa Justice for All.
He was raised in the Midwest, graduated from Washburn University School of Law, and is a member of the Kansas bar.
He received his Introductory and Advanced Mediation training from Steve Rosenberg Mediation and his Arbitration certificate from Ron Kelly Mediation and Arbitration.
