Judy Bornstein is a certified mediator and an experienced finance executive with 20+ years helping organizations address the challenges and conflicts inherent in growing, managing, and even winding down businesses. She has worked extensively as a CFO and Chief Compliance Officer and brings her finance and business acumen to her work as a mediator.
Bornstein has successfully led organizations through start-up, turn around, and high growth cycles. She successfully advocates for optimal outcomes within and between organizations, and is skilled at addressing an array of business, financial, management, partnership, and workplace issues. She has extensive experience brokering agreements inside organizations both within and across functions, and assisting companies and individuals in salary and compensation agreements. A skilled mediator and negotiator, she has particular expertise working within complex organization and entity structures, and within both traditionally structured and matrixed organizations. She is ethical, poised, and skilled at building relationships across all levels, bringing her acute listening skills and perseverance to conflict and dispute resolutions.
Bornstein is deeply committed to helping individuals and organizations settle disputes so that all parties can move forward without animus and with clear resolution. This often requires creative approaches, and she is skilled at helping parties identify solutions that optimize results. Her logic and clarity, combined with compassion and commitment to peaceful resolutions, has allowed her to find settlements even in the most complex and contentious matters. She brings her facilitative approach to each conversation.
Bornstein holds an MBA from Simmons University in Boston, where she graduated first in her class. She is a candidate for a Masters in Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University where she has received several awards for achieving first in class rank in the fields of negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. She received her certification in mediation from the San Francisco Bar Association.
In addition to her business, financial, and mediation training, Bornstein has completed additional coursework in Arbitration; Negotiation; Online Dispute Resolution; High Conflict Communication; Apology, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation; Restorative Justice, and Non-Violent Communication.
