BASF and JDC Statement on the 2024 Election

November 8, 2024—While millions of votes are still to be counted in California, the national election has been decided, with significant implications for Americans and the legal community at every level. The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) is here to provide a collective voice for public advocacy, advance professional growth and education, and attempt to elevate the standards of integrity, honor, and respect in the practice of law.

The Volunteer Legal Services Program (now JDC) was launched by BASF in 1977 as an effort to keep the American promise of justice for all.

You can help a tenant remain housed, an , or a victim . You can help a low-income client . Not all our opportunities are pro-bono; you can join our  panel, representing indigent clients in the San Francisco Superior Court.

You have the power to raise a shield and protect some of the most vulnerable members of our community. BASF and the JDC are steadfast in our commitment to providing opportunities to help our members grow their careers, connect with their peers, and continue the promise of American justice for all.

In community,

Yolanda Jackson
Executive Director and General Counsel of The Bar Association of San Francisco and the Justice & Diversity Center

Teresa Johnson
BASF and JDC Board President
