Legal Alliance for Reproductive Rights (LARR) – Dobbs One Year Anniversary
June 21, 2023, San Francisco—On June 1st, 2022, as a response to the Dobbs leak and impending Supreme Court decision overturning the constitutional right to abortion care under Roe v. Wade, The Bar Association of San Francisco launched the Legal Alliance for Reproductive Rights (LARR), the first task force in the nation to organize law firms in the fight to safeguard the rights of those seeking and providing abortion services.
As we approach the first anniversary of the ruling, there has been an all-out assault on reproductive rights, from statewide abortion bans to extreme incursions into the FDA’s ability to regulate the use of mifepristone, a crucial abortion/miscarriage medication.
Today LARR stands more than 70 firms strong. Its members continue to take on legal challenges, interpret the latest changes to laws nationwide, and advise those providing or seeking abortion care.
