In fact, all your communications with our State Bar certified lawyer referral service are protected and privileged under Assembly Bill 267. Approved in 2013, AB 267 provides that conversations between a potential client and a certified lawyer referral service about the legal circumstances for which assistance is needed, are to remain absolutely confidential. When you request a lawyer referral, we need to have the following:
- Basic information about your legal matter
- Your name and telephone number
In addition, we may ask you for additional information:
- Your mailing address and the times you are available for an appointment
- We may ask for credit card information and billing address if you are requesting a phone consultation. BASF is concerned about the privacy of our members. Therefore, we use industry standard technology protections based on best practices to make sure that our transaction processes are safe, and that our members information is secure.
The information described above is for the purpose of finding you the lawyer or legal service you need.
We will discuss this information with prospective lawyers only—and we will not give out any information provided by you to any individual, advertiser, or any other entity without your written consent.
