On Saturday, July 15 at 7:00 a.m., Team Tam, an elite group of cyclists, led by David Reidy of McGuireWoods, set out from Crissy Field for a 53.7 mile bike ride that included over 7,000 feet in elevation gains, officially kicking off the 10th Annual Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) Bike/Walk-a-Thon.
As more people gathered for the group start at 10:00 a.m., they were greeted by picture-perfect weather and their colleagues from the legal community, pro bono volunteers, and board members from The Bar Association of San Francisco, its Barristers Club and JDC.
More than 90 participants, their families – and in many cases their pets – were on hand for a healthy walk or ride followed by a gourmet BBQ complete with million-dollar views. Thanks to the contributions of participants and their sponsors, more than $31,000 was raised to fund JDC’s pro bono legal services programs.
