In anticipation of increased enforcement actions by the current administration, a Northern California Rapid Immigration Response Network has been created and has been taking steps to prepare our legal community. Members of this network include the ACLU, AILA, NLG, the Justice & Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco, and various Northern California nonprofits, all of whom are committed to providing pro bono legal assistance to immigrants detained in enforcement actions.
In order to assess volunteer interest and capacity, the Network has put together a survey for Attorneys and BIA Reps and is asking that those interested in learning more and getting involved, fill out the survey. Based on the survey results, the network will refine its plans and provide follow up information in the coming weeks about volunteer opportunities, training, and the structure of the program.
Please check the Northern California Rapid Immigration Response Network website to find out more about the program and volunteer roles.
