This December 2, The Bar Association of San Francisco and the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) will launch our first ever Giving Tuesday campaign to support the Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarship program.
This year our #GivingTuesday goal is to raise $10,000 to help fund one year of the three year Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarship.
Since its inception in 1998, through the generous donations of individuals, law firms and corporations, we have awarded more than 86 scholarships which totaled more than $1.5 million to diverse Bay Area law students.
Scholarship recipients have made an impact in their communities and to the legal profession. They are general counsel at corporations, associates and partners at law firms, managing attorneys at nonprofits, solo practitioners and government attorneys.
This scholarship program would not be possible without the generosity of others. In the midst of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, remember #GivingTuesday and support our campaign.
Make a donation on December 2 to the scholarship program and post on Twitter why you gave using the hashtag #GivingTuesday and our Twitter handle, @sfbar.
Visit www.sfbar.org/givingtuesday for inspirational stories from past scholarship recipients.
Over the next few days, we will share some of these stories here at Legal by the Bay. Stay tuned.
