Members Tour Murals in the Mission
Join the Next Walk on November 14
On a recent Sunday morning, about 10 of your fellow BASF members met Lisa Brewer of Mission Art 415 to learn about how murals like the ones shown here are made in the Mission, who the artists are, and why some artwork gets tagged and some doesn't. Get your steps in early as you gain an understanding of the impacts laws can have on what goes into the permitting process and more during the next tour on Sunday, November 14. The tour will start at 9 a.m. near the 24th St. Bart station. Click here to learn more and register.
The Lilac Mural Project was founded by Mission Art 415 over 10 years ago. The tours are professionally curated by the founders who meet and observe many of the artists spray and brush painting their artwork. Mission Art 415 are strong supporters of the art community, they bring the art alive with their insightful knowledge of the artists, their styles, and the local art community.
Pictured above are just some of the many vibrant murals you'll come across on the walk. Watch the video below to learn more about Crayone, a local art legend. He shares the behind-the-scenes work that goes into his creative process, and the story his art tells.
