Here we are again with a gorgeous Bay Area spring! The sun is out and more and more of us are getting our vaccines. It’s time to re-engage with the world!
Although a lot of us are suffering from Zoom Gloom, our section is moving forward with some remote CLEs and a half-day conference in October. For a shorter, lunchtime CLE, being able to attend remotely is a treat! No more dashing out of the office and over to the location with your lunch and a notepad. Instead, you can sign on, get some credits, and hopefully learn something new without leaving your desk.
But we need to hear from you, our faithful readers and members, as to what topics spark your fire. Do you want to hear more about discovery, breaking into a new industry (like Cannabis Law), trials, depositions? We are here to serve you, so please reach out to anyone on the Board and let us know. Feel free to email me directly at karin@vsfamlaw.com.
We are also actively recruiting for members to join our section and perhaps even join the Board. Most employers are willing to pay your membership fees for BASF and our section as it gives you an incredible network of peers and access to free or discounted attendance at CLEs. While there are other excellent paralegal groups in the area, the Paralegal Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco is the ONLY non-attorney section of BASF. The section began because our founders believed it was important for paralegals, legal assistants, word-processors, court reporters, and others who work in support services for attorneys to have a “seat at the table.” Over the years, our section has grown and our CLEs, conferences, and symposia have been incredibly well-attended.
We love hearing from our members and finding out what YOU want from us. Keep in touch and let us know how we can make our section more meaningful in your practice.
Stop by, get involved, the water’s fine!
