Have you ever been to Yosemite in the winter?
It is among the most gorgeous, serene locations on earth. For years, the Labor and Employment Law Section has taken advantage of this wonderful location to hold its annual employment law conference, featuring top speakers and cutting edge topics in labor and employment law. This year, the conference will be held on January 29 – 31, 2015.
Section Chair Jennifer Redmond of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton notes that, “We are making a special outreach to junior lawyers, entering our profession at a time of profound change in the practice.” This year’s program will close with a session on the evolution of labor and employment law and how its direction will impact our practices. We will also assign networking mentors to new attendees, with the goal of making the conference and the evening receptions as inclusive and meaningful as possible for all.
Other topics for this year’s conference include a roundup of new state and federal employment decisions, a survey of the myriad of new employment regulations governing employers doing business in San Francisco, and primer on cutting edge issues in labor organizing. “We work hard to present expert programming that employment law practitioners can’t find anywhere else, in a collegial environment, against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful valleys in the world,” Redmond noted.
A wide choice of housing is available, from the very affordable Yosemite Lodge (where all CLE programming is held) to the Grand Ahwahnee Lodge (where the receptions are held). Both locations are family friendly and, if there is interest, there will be a kids event on Saturday evening.
To enjoy a long weekend of expert CLE (6.5 hours) tailored to San Francisco’s employment and labor lawyers, at one of the natural wonders of the world, register online at www.sfbar.org/calendar.
