The Northern District Court of California and Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) held a reception on January 21 to celebrate their joint venture, the Federal Pro Bono Project.
The project provides free legal services to pro se litigants in federal court including placing cases with pro bono attorneys.
This year, James Schurz and Robert Petraglia of Morrison & Foerster were honored for outstanding public service. Dechert and Winston & Strawn were also honored as outstanding law firms in pro bono service.
District court judges, including Judge Edward Chen, Judge Donna Ryu and Chief District Judge Claudia Wilken were on hand to thank the attorneys.
