On Thursday, April 12, the Bar Association of San Francisco cosponsored a Judicial Candidates Forum at Golden Gate University. The event was moderated by GGU Professor Hina Shah.

All nine candidates appearing on the June 5 ballot for the four contested Superior Court seats were in attendance. The incumbent candidates are Judge Andrew Cheng, Judge Curtis Karnow, Judge Cynthia Lee, and Judge Jeffrey Ross. The challenging candidates are Maria Evangelista, Kwixuan Maloof, Nicole Solis and Phoenix Streets from the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, and Elizabeth Zareh, a private attorney and commissioner for the City of San Francisco Assessment Appeals Board.

In addition to BASF, the event was sponsored by San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, California Employment Lawyers Association, Queens Bench Bar Association, the National Lawyers Guild, SF Bay Area Chapter, and Golden Gate University.
