Barristers Club Honors Judge David Ballati with Barristers Choice Award

Award presented at 24th Annual Judges Reception on July 15


July 17, 2008 -- San Francisco -- The Barristers Club of The Bar Association of San Francisco presented its Barristers Choice Award at its 24th annual Judges Reception on July 15 to outgoing San Francisco Superior Court Presiding Judge David L. Ballati. The award, voted on by the Barristers Club members, is given to recognize a jurist who has made extraordinary efforts to educate and encourage lawyers new to the courtroom.

More than 350 members of the legal community, including more than fifty state and federal judges and their clerks, attended the Judges Reception.

The funds raised from this event help support Barristers Club programs that encourage mentoring of Bay Area students, increasing diversity in the legal profession and helping law students bridge the gap between school and practicing law.

The reception was held at the Green Room of the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center.

The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) is a nonprofit voluntary membership organization of over 8,000 attorneys, law students and legal professionals in the Bay Area. Founded in 1872, BASF is one of the largest and most dynamic metropolitan bar associations in the U.S., with a long and distinguished record of community action, public service and service to the legal profession.
